Just found your web page, I was a member of the Garryowen when you were in Princes St.
I wear my Garryowen golf shirt to our Club here in Whitby Ontario Canada, I was President for 10 years, we have our own premises, watch all the games live, got up at 6am in minus 30 C to see the Huns get gubbed on Jan 2nd.
I was home for the Bayern game, I can't remember ever hearing so much noise when the Bhoys did the huddle.
Saw the Bhoys in Cleveland last year, and looking forward to seeing them in Toronto this July, and a wee road trip to Boston, and all those Irish Bars MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

I met a guy in Las Vegas at the NAFSC Convention. He was wearing a Garryowen shirt, I can't remember his name, He lives in London now, used to live in Dalry road, Saltcoats, what was called the new Electrics when I lived in Sannox Dr. 25 years ago.

If any of your readers are in the Whitby area, we are half hour east of Toronto, drop me a line and I'll take them to the Durham Celtic Club.

Dear Celtic Friends,

One of the favourite Celtic Pubs in Glasgow is
in serious danger of being closed by the
Licensing board this month. As you will no
doubt know the Licensing board have already
shut down the Brazen Heads sister club 'Durty
Nellys' and reduced the opening hours of the
pub. They are now going for the full licence
with a hearing due on 22/08/03.

We would appreciate your support in the matter
in anyway possible. I enclose a jpeg you may
wish to show on your website.

The pub is home to the James Stokes VC. CSC and
it is also a popular haunt for Celtic fans
travelling from Ireland, England, Norway,
Germany, and other parts of the globe. It has
also been involved in Celtic charity work in
the past few years holding successful
testimonial nights for Mike Galloway and the
late great Bobby Murdoch. The pub is also
sponsors of Celtic Juniors boys club.

To lose the Brazen Head would be a great loss
to Celtic fans on the southside of
Glasgow.Anything you can do to assist us in our
campaign would be greatly appreciated.

Yours in Celtic

Paul Gillespie
JAMES STOKES CSC

** If you wish to support the Brazen Head
please send a letter to - The Licensing Board,
Glasgow City Chambers, George Square, Glasgow,

of the letter on this thread or send it
directly to the Brazen Head pub **
